3-on-3 Basketball Mini-Tournament
For Men's, Women's, and Teens' Teams
(Teens team; Age bracket between 12 yrs old and 17 yrs old)
Those 3-on-3 tournaments are fantastic. Get more touches on the ball and just as much exercise in our men's, women's, and teens' games. It's also much easier to get 4-5 of your friends to involved!
This September 29th, Arizona Deaf Festival committee will be offering a men's, women's, and teens' mini-tournament in addition to our deaf festival at one place, El Rio Recreation Center.
Prizes will be given out.
How Does It Work?
Just like the name, it's 3-on-3. You'll play a round robin format. Each "match" is a round-robin, in which each team plays 11-minute game against opponents (with sudden death overtime).
Where to Sign Up?
Sign Up will be at Deaf Festival, El Rio Recreation Center on September 29th between 9AM and 11PM. The drawing of the teams will be held at 12PM. The mini-tournament will begin after the drawing.
What Are the Rules?
This is a fun, recreational 3-on-3 basketball min-tournament. So while we love great competition, we want everyone to play, stay involved and stay safe. The key rules are:
- 3 on 3, 3 players per team on the court at all times
- Scoring - Each regular field goal is worth 2 points. A successful shot from behind the 3-point arc is worth 3 points. Foul shots are worth 1 point. (After the game, the team that has the most fun wins)
- 11-minute games/match. Each team plays the round robin games. Each game counts in the standings.
- Ball changes possession after each basket.
- Starting with the 6th foul, teams will shoot 2 foul shots (1 and 1 only if no 3-point line) with change of possession on a made 2nd shot or a live ball on a missed 2nd shot
- Must take the ball back to top of key/3-point line on change of possession.
- Discretionary 30-second shot clock rule.
